The Webby Awards

Posted Apr 23, 2009

The 2009 annual Webby Awards have just unveiled this year's nominees. The Oscars of the internet, the prizes give those that sit behind monitors for most of the day a credible excuse to get out of their pyjamas and into the real world. We reveal who they are.

Described as the "Internet's highest honour" by the New York Times, Swide couldn't wait to have a peek at who is up for an Oscar moment and a new dress/suit at the 13th annual internet awards. Do they have gushing aceptance speeches like the Oscars, or is it more rock and roll like the Brit music awards? Answers on a virtual postcard please.

The awards include websites, online film and video, interactive advertising, and mobile Websites with categories that include art, celebrity, political bloggers, fashion websites, best online copywriting, cultural institutions and design but naturally our eyes went straight to the low-end (as in not high-brow) nominees.

Cast your wireless mice over these 2009 nominees.

Victoria's Secret Fashion Show Online Video Series and Red Issue all all up for an award with our very own Dolce & Gabbana receiving an honourary mention along with cult Paris store, Colette.
