The London look

Posted Feb 1, 2009

Although we're fully aware of the London look in terms of fashion - where do the city's fashionistas go home to, when it's time to sleep?

The recently launched coffee-table book, New London Style takes a fresh look into the private dwellings of the most exciting young creative talents in London from the music, fashion, design and art worlds. Take a peek in the homes of London residents that include fashion designers Matthew Williamson,Tracey Boyd and Bill Amberg, and model Erin O’Connor.

The 28 featured houses in the book are loosely arranged by location from the established to the on-the-edge neighbourhoods – from Whitechapel to Notting Hill, Camberwell to Clerkenwell – and all the interiors reflect the cosmopolitan melting pot that influences the city’s design trends.

The good news? With the sterling at current levels - a London crash pad could be within reach of us all (dependant of course on shopping addictions).

Written by London girl Chloe Grimshaw with photography from Ingrid Rasmussen (StyleCity) - New London Style is available to buy from London's Design Museum's online shop at designmuseumshop.com, Amazon and publisher Thames & Hudson.
