Scary trend: Ladies of the 80's dolls

Posted Oct 28, 2009

Making us feel like pop-culture relics, Mattel’s new dolls collection is a little disturbing. Take a peek at the unrecognizable faces of Joan Jett, Cyndi Lauper and Debbie Harry.

Although we like to consider ourselves arbiter's of the hip and trendy(ish), pre-Halloween we intend to indulge in a feast of trashy trends.

Mattel, the brand behind the blonde poster girl Barbie, have recently announced their latest line, Ladies Of The ’80s. Heading to a store near you in time for Christmas excess the range includes Debbie Harry and Joan Jett, and Cyndi Lauper who goes out in January.

We can't help but think girls who'd like to be rock stars would be better off receiving music lessons, than these ever so slightly deformed 'perfect' copies of some of our favourite rockstars.
