Riding towards greener pastures

Posted Dec 4, 2009

Take what probably is the least eco-friendly of vehicles, tear it apart and use it to save the planet! Enter the new generation rider, a knight in green armour pedalling into environmental bliss.

Meet the GRACE bike, made largely from Formula One parts. It may not be the world's first green bicycle as we seem to recall the real McCoy never was that polluting in the first place, nor is it the first electrical bike; what got us however is that this one is street legal; so unlike the other jailbait electric bikes you get to feel superior and cleverer than the car drivers stuck in perpetual traffic without having to sweat it too much thereby ruining a face full of lovingly applied make-up.

It's also got the perks: indestructible frame (too bad your human envelope isn't), alarm system... And most important of all the 45km/h  maximum speed. Enough to justify a not so recession-friendly price? Well, as they say, it's cheaper than a car. That and the fact we reckon the smug cyclist is the new smug married: as much as we love to hate them they're everything we ever dream of becoming. Count us in!

Manufactured by German company GRACEGrace is race as they say...
