Philippe Starck redesigns Taschen

Posted May 26, 2009

When it comes to beautiful books, nobody does it better than German art book publisher Taschen. Their newest bookshop which has just opened in Copenhagen has interiors courtesy of super-designer Philippe Starck.

Much as we love browsing in a bookstore demonstrating our intellectual savvy - the usual corporate settings and overpowering smell of an in-house Starbucks have us running for home and the safety of Amazon.

A new concept from the prestigious publishing house Taschen looks set to change all of this.

Their newest Scandinavian outpost on Copenhagen’s Strøget, the Danish city's largest pedestrian shopping area gives you the freedom to browse for hours under a Gio Ponti chandelier and its impressive interiors courtesy of super-designer Philippe Starck, will mean you’ll never want to leave.

Pick up one of their oversized limited edition books such as a Christopher Wool signed photography book complete with original polaroids and your coffee table will be the centre of any visitor’s conversation.
