Palm Spring's new wave
We're not naming names, but if you ever stayed in a "high-end" modern hotel and being assaulted by a bouncer on your return to the hotel after for dinner, struggled to get a table in the hotel's pitch-black bar and then were unable to find a drink that wasn't a cocktail welcome to the alternative - Palm Spring's newest recruit, The Ace.
Despite Palm Spring's slightly dreary reputation - it seems new things are afoot there with the newest outpost of the Ace hotel group - selected as "the next wave of" of hoteliers in Time magazine's list of top 100 business innovators.
Maintaining the group's "bohemian-modern sensibility" the Ace is all about the fundamentals of a hotel stay - pools and eating.
Reinventing the desert resort, the Palm Spring's location features an indoor-outdoor spa, two saltwater pools, The King's Highway restaurant - located in an old roadside diner serving typical American food for the desert with a focus on organic, and local ingredients and The Amigo Rooms serving fresh, clean cocktails with homemade ingredients. Our favourite? It's all available poolside.
