JFK ends terminal boredom with Muji
If you've ever played "the change game" ie spend what you have left in the currency of the airport you are in, it usually results in a novelty mug, the latest copy of Vogue, bath oil and a pack of peanuts. Next time however you're bracing yourself for the red-eye at JFK, the game will at least keep you awake until you take your flight.
From the end of October, a slice of Tokyo convenience from Muji, the Japanese company known for its slick travel solutions, easy to wear basics and essential homewares will be available from its new space in JFK's JetBlue Airways’ new Terminal 5.
In most stations around Japan, you can find a Muji store open late into the night for those passing business people that have no time, desire (and often will to live) to iron shirts and cook. Instead they opt to stop off at Muji, grab a shirt for the next day along with rice crackers, green tea, a candle and bath oil...and off they trot contented.
The "Muji to Go" store opening in JFK will follow the same principles. Over 596 square feet, it will be the first to open in a US airport and will offer a range of useful items from travel and mobile accessories, to over 300 household items and 80 apparel items.
Make sure you pick up your eye mask, socks and luggage tag before you hit the bar.
