Home alone with a rooftop beach

Posted Apr 17, 2009

The 75 Wall Tower building in New York has created a roof-top oasis with real sand for residents who want to avoid the weekend traffic choked trip to the Hamptons.

We love the concept but perhaps even more for answer-phone message possibilities.

"Hello, I'm currently unavailable to take your call as I'm currently upstairs on my roof beach. Please call back later."

Manhattan's 42-storey Wall Tower holds 350 apartments complete with luxury gym, yoga/dance studio, and spa & treatment room, off-site parking, private club room, bar and cinema. Not to sound jaded - but we've seen it all before. Or rather we thought we had.

The 75 Wall Tower has impressed even our jaded little eyes with its new addition of a rooftop beach - complete with real sand, BBQ, hot tub, hammocks and outdoor fireplaces so you can enjoy a little fresh air even in April.

With views of Manhattan from your sun-lounger could this be the new Hamptons?
