Green inspiration from The Queen

Posted Nov 10, 2008

The new cult design object that reminds you it's chicer to be green

It's rumoured that The Queen of England has for some years had a penchant for switching off lights switches in order to conserve energy. Now established as ahead of her years with her green credentials she may also add muse of the year to her crown jewels.

Not only was The Queen the inspiration for Dolce & Gabbana's AW08 womenswear collection, but in this quirky plug accessory, entitled, "Martyr - the energy saving fundamentalist" we see her admirable actions echoed yet again.

This cult design piece was designed by the Play Coalition, a creative collaboration between three designers who met at college, and, in their words, "love to design things that are often functional but usually just fun". Simple.
