Goodbye winter at the las fallas festival

Posted Mar 13, 2009

From March 15th to 19th head to Valencia to celebrate spring and a carnival of bonfires. If you've ever want to burn an effigy of your boss - Las Fallas is the place to do it.

Every year Valencia city celebrates the final days of winter and the arrival of spring with spectacular fires and fireworks.  Valencia is given over to giant papier-mâché figures that satirise political figures, soap stars, and movie stars. Some are grotesque – others playful and charming – all are larger than life and up for public scrutiny.

Who will your papier-mâché figure be?

If you're looking for a place to eat away from the heat - try the new Mar de Bamboo restaurant below.

And close your eyes at the Hotel El Coso
