Entertainment at your fingertips
Ever walked in a museum and wanted to put your hand on everything you saw out of pure fascination and curiosity? There’s an unexplainable allure behind touching aesthetically attractive items that renders it difficult to sustain. The same can be said about mediums of multimedia. Resisting the flirty LCD glares that illuminate from computer and tv screens seem unimaginable. Of course, the only thing left is to surrender and let our fingers do the talking.

The popular oriental restaurant, Inamo, spoke to many diners when they introduced touch-screen pads into their restaurant. Each table is equipped with a touch-pad projection system that enables diners to order their food directly from the chefs. But the amazement doesn’t just stop at ordering, the touch pads also control what images are to be projected onto the tables as well as offer gaming options. Inamo, like many businesses understand that customers appreciate interactivity and always want to be engaged.

The recent source of interactive entertainment comes from “Amusity” table. A coffee table designed by Idan Arbel that offers more than book support. The “Amusity” table gives people a chance to organize an entire music library on it, in addition to playing music videos. The songs are arranged in popularity. The most popular of songs remain in the center, while the lesser played stay on the periphery. A particular speaker-type object is used to control the volume and zoom settings of the music videos

Rather than getting lost in the explanations of such an amazing concept, check out the video of "Amusity" in action:
In the scope of successful touch-mp3 players, televisions, computers, restaurants and now coffee tables, it's fair to say that touch screens will soon become something that is expected rather than appreciated.
