A room without a view

Posted Apr 17, 2009

First of all: this is not a post for people that wish to face the credit crisis in a new-cool-chic-radical-way. No no no! Swide.com will never speak about a crisis. Crisis? What crisis?

We eat in the most exclusive restaurants of the world, we fly only in first class, we read swide.com, we dress in Chanel, Armani, Dolce & Gabbana and Hermes. So it follows that we're the perfect hosts for the next opening of this "Zero Star Hotel".

Housed in a nuclear bunker, located in Saint Gallen (Switzerland) - the hotel could be considered a large art installation for a modest daily cost: 13$ at least (as reported by the following Yahoo piece).

Rooms without views, limited hot water, no TV and you can forget room service.

Zero Hotel is created by artist-twins Frank and Patrik Riklin. We don’t know if they are connected with another similar project by MT&PS, but they assure us that “less is more”, especially as the Saint Gallen authorities actually asked them to keep the bunker intact. In the scenario of a nuclear attack the hotel can revert back to its old bunker role. Now you know: be low-key, be safe.
