The Royal Horticultural Society organises a vast amount of truly spectacular garden shows during the late spring and summer- but the pinnacle of these events is the Chelsea Flower Show. Blossoms take over the Royal Chelsea hospital, and for the occasion shop windows on the very posh Sloane Street become fragrant gardens themselves.
Before setting off to research this edition, I enlisted my friend Jenis for company, to prevent me going solo and looking like a ‘lady of the night’ in some the establishments. What I’ve found are real gems. As a Londoner, one can get stuck and be reticent about what’s out there. I’ve realised that not only is this a guide for worldwide visitors, it is also a guide for Londoners – it’s for us all.
