The great cake escape

Posted Oct 22, 2008

Sugary smiles all-round. The word ‘cake’ instantly conjures up feel good images and is exactly why "The Great Cake Escape", a guerilla art project led by "Fondant Fancy" and "Cherry Bakewell" has literally taken the idea and baked with it.

Dropping a variety of cupcakes around central London on steps, by entrance buzzers, park railings and window-sills complete with saucy messages such as "Take Me", the concept is to add a little mouthful of pleasure in what can be a sugarless city existence. Mixing the idea of public art with, a free cake the project is definitely the way to both men and women’s hearts. Leave the artificial sweetener at home – its time to live the real thing.
