The chopsticks diet
Set for release in January 2009, the "Chopstick Diet" is a new recipe book by Japanese author Kimiko Barber - available to pre-order now on Amazon.
With looking fabulous for our post-Christmas Carribean retreats of vital importance, we were especially intrigued to discover what we can start doing right now to pre-empt the usual over-indulgence. A sneak peek at the book's preview reviews reveals one hundred and twenty recipes that focus on traditional Japanese ingredients - especially those that are highly nutritious but low in fat, including tofu and seaweeds, fruits and fish as well as including authentic Japanese superfoods such has konyaku, that has zero calories yet is high in fibre.
If you can't wait for the book - you can always start the plan now by eating your usual food (we're assuming it's relatively healthy...) with chopsticks. As the eating process is slower with chopsticks, the stomach is tricked into feeling fuller which increases the flow of digestive juices and avoids the, "I can't believe I just ate an entire cheese plate" moment.
