London offers up a temporary platter
Opening its door on November 1st, but we’re telling you now so you have time to make a reservation is Flash, a temporary restaurant from Pablo Flack, David Waddington and Tom Collins, the successful restaurateurs behind London’s foremost scenetaurant Bistrotheque and the temporary 2006 Christmas restaurant, Reindeer.
When the Reindeer restaurant opened for Christmas it was said according to London’s Evening Standard newspaper that, “within hour of opening it was fully booked…as in you can’t even get a table if you are Prince William, Madonna, Roman Abramovich or God.” Be prepared.
Only open for a limited run of eighty days – until January 19th 2009, the opening will coincide with The Royal Academy of Art’s GSK Contemporary season, a new art exhibition that will run for three months from November in Mayfair’s Burlington’s Gardens.
Not content with opening what will be the hottest place in town (and the hottest exhibition), Flash has joined forces with a cool pack of bright young things that include Brit fashion designer Giles Deacon with Swarovski in charge of designing sparkly new chandeliers for the venue, along with young architect, David Kohn and Will Broome who along with Wedgwood have created a set of unique set of flash china.
And not forgetting the food obviously…
Open for lunch and dinner as well as Josiah cream teas (named in honor of Wedgwood’s founder Josiah Wedgwood) the English menu features Brit favourites that include roast cod, roast pheasant, dressed Dorset crab, and potted fresh salmon. Opening hours and further contact details are available courtesy of opentable.com.
A temporary home in Mayfair and an art installation in its own right. If the love is not shown with reservations…try Bistrotheque anyhow.
