Chocolate gets a Japanese makeover

If you are looking for something beyond the ubiquitous dark chocolate that has been flavour for what seems like forever - click onto Sadaharu Aoki's online pâtisserie to discover a new chic treat ideas with a twist.

There are currently five Sadaharu AOKI boutiques in the world – three in Paris and two in Tokyo. The owner and chef, Sadaharu Aoki is in Japan at least once a month discovering new flavours, and another Tokyo shop is scheduled to open in 2009.

Sadaharu mixes typically Japanese flavours and design with traditional French pastry after having spent several years as an apprentice at Chandon - a prestigious Tokyo patisserie. Their unique list of chocolate flavours avalable includes; Ivoire Mâcha - White chocolate with green tea, Ivoire Mâcha sésame - White chocolate with green tea & sesame, Noir Sésame - Black chocolate with green tea & sesame, Noire Epicée - Spicy black chocolate and Au lait et Gingembre - Milk chocolate with ginger. There are also truffles made from green tea, yuzu, cognac and seasame noir and a selection of teas, cakes and biscuits.

Tea and a biscuit has never been so chic.
