Some do it for Fashion some just cause: Diets

Posted Jan 22, 2011

Ten diets from the most curiously bizarre ones to the ones set by the fashion crowd. This is not a nutritionist column, but a top chart, for fun. Read on.

The Body in Full.
Next how to get like that and be able to wear sheer lace.

The Top Ten of the Fashionably curious diets:

1. The tic tac diet: hooked on tic tacs. All you can eat tic tacs, 1 tic tac for breakfast, 1 for lunch, 1 for dinner. Not sure. Maybe just for one day?

2. Lets get more serious: the Lagerfeld diet. Karl Lagerfeld published a bestseller in 2002 which he co-wrote with physician Jean-Claude Houdret. The foreword said: "If you attach no importance to weight problems, if not being able to wear new, trendy small-sized clothes does not cause you any regret, this book is not for you." So is it for you? Are you still under the influence of Twiggy? In any case you can check out the book which combines sound advice for weight-loss with more popular notions, and of course the myth behind Lagerfeld's dramatic weight loss. See the book on amazon.com.

3. The skinny bitch diet: nothing scientifically ground breaking here. However the authors, two skinny bitches, Rory Freedman and Kim Bargouin, will be there to either turn you into a bitch (hopefully skinny) or bitch so much at you, that you'll either die in self-loathe or start dieting. It works for some. If you need to be told what to do and get punished.

4. Carla Bruni's one mandarin diet. It's vitamin C inspiring. Vitamin C is good for you, but we know that Carla doesn't just swear by mandarins, although she is very fitted indeed. Read her influence on Sarkozy's shape

5. The Sleeping Beauty diet: we all knew that sleeping had a good effect on our body. This diet is not about replenishing your skin's moist, or giving your cells a make-over. It's about a basic mathematical equation: the more you sleep the less you eat. Got it? Apparently Elvis was fond of this method.

6. The vision diet: put something ugly on your plate, or wear coloured lenses. Whatever it takes to make your plate less appealing. Apparently coloured glasses also have a calming effect. More calm, less pig-outs? It makes sense.

7. The Hallelujah diet: this one is a favourite. We all trust the power of prayer. Too bad we never - up until now - thought of using it to shed some pounds. Obviously, just prayer won't do. The followers of the Hallelujah diet are required to eat foods specifically mentioned in the biblical books. Only 15% of a person's daily intake is allowed to be cooked. Mostly vegan, mostly healthy. And hey, you have god on your side.

8. The raw food diet: Demi Moore's come back with an amazing body for Charlie's Angels was apparently due to this fantastic diet, easy to do: just eat raw foods. Ideas for recipes just click

9. If some celebrities outspokenly talk about their diets, some just become advocates. Have we had enough of Courtney Thorne-Smith proclaiming how Atkins has changed her life? Want to try to change yours? The official atkins' website.

10. Last but not least, an advice from the Fashionable editors of Swide: just love, make love, and enjoy.
