Take a walk on the old side

Posted Oct 27, 2008

Work out in style in an exercise in vintage - You may make excuses about not heading to the gym today; however after taking a look at the instruments used at the end of the 1800’s a spot of Pilates doesn’t appear so bad after all.

After close inspection, we’re not exactly sure how much effort these gym bunnies are actually putting into the whole experience but it’s good to know we’re not the first to be concerned about the body beautiful. The gym-wear on the other hand is elegance personified. Not only is it chic but also a clever time saving exercise. With fitness centres a scarce commodity, we're sure that by the time these gym bunnies arrived at their fitness destination of choice, there simply wasn't the time to change aswell. We’re especially fond of the man who appears to be quite at home with his boots off, experiencing what looks like an enjoyable foot workout. We’re on the phone to our gym now to see if one can be installed. It could be the perfect way to tone up our tootsies for the new season's heels.

We’re big fans of preserving dignity when we work out, velour pink and nylon are certainly not in our gym bags (check out GYM from Dolce&Gabbana to prove our point), but what we do like is invention of some sort. Nike and Apple's latest release to ensure the ipod Nano is compatible with selected gym equipment has ensured our legwarmers are ready and waiting.

Continuing with their successful partnership, the companies are working with health clubs 24-Hour Fitness and Virgin to enable direct access for the iPod Nano into gym equipment and is scheduled to be in five hundred gyms right now.
