Milan Fashion Soccer Players Portraits.

This unique project is the creation of Domenico Dolce, Stefano Gabbana and young photographer Marco Falcetta. The book is comprised of a collection of intimate portraits of the players that… ah, but let me stop you there. Yes, these players have taken part in hugely successful books and advertising campaigns where their bodies have been center of attention, but this time the lens isn’t focused on the physiques of these modern gladiators (sorry to disappoint those who were thinking less is more). Instead the camera exposes their style, representing their mood and personality, as players and as men, in a series of pages dedicated to each member of the team.
These footballers are used to the attention of photographers who try to capture them on and off the pitch to show the world that these sport heroes are normal men. Dolce&Gabbana have done one better as this book gives the supporters, the fans, the adorers, the fashion conscious and those who just want to see their favourite playersin a different light permission to. And I, for one, feel very privileged.
Join us and celebrate the glorious winners of the 2011 Italian Football Championship on the 19th May at our boutique (details below) and welcome the players as they arrive at the red carpet event. There is also a photocall scheduled so for those who turn up to show their support there will be the chance to see them suited and booted and maybe the opportunity to practice your own paparazzi skills. This project also contributes to the further development of Fondazione Milan, a nonprofit organization that started in 2003 aiming at promoting social well-being for the disadvantaged areas of the population, a cause that is very important to us at Swide.

In an effort to hone in on the concept of casual luxury, Dolce&Gabbana fashioned a collection built on contrasts.
