Chic Lady on the Aeolian Isles: DG Archive SS96

Posted Jul 10, 2011

Break free from minimalism. Dolce&Gabbana found the way to flirt with the minimalist trend and start a crescendo of mix and match. The perk? A style guide on how to behave on a glamorous vacation spot.

Dear fashion followers, this is an open letter and hymn to a very smart collection. Chic is the hardest thing to do: dare we say most women preferred minimalism in the 90s because of a lack of taste and a secure fashion net. Exactly, how can you go wrong with minimal? Even a black trash bag would do.

Designers Dolce & Gabbana didn't quiet want to comply with this movement but as usual try something new that was their "own".

For example? Try mixing fur and leopard prints with a summer attire. Yes, black still was the dominant lady. But the chic? Well, chic as we have announced previously is a difficult thing to grasp. Sometimes, we must trust designers to guide us through it. Isn't it the point of the maisons anyhow? To all the women out there who don't quiet trust their fashion sense but still want to be impeccable without being boring.

Monica Vitti inspiration from the movie "L'Avventura". How to do chic while vacationing on a yatch. Linda Evangelista's smile is of course the best accessory. Leopard all over: Naomi Campbell's feline walk to demonstrate it.

Scarves and hats: mix and match of prints and still a masculine and Jackie O appeal. Bon ton on the streets of Italy.

Sexy: most definitely. Tiger prints on the famous trench worn by Kate Moss.

Yes Leopard becomes part of minimalism. Surprising? Expect all.
