All about Music for Dolce & Gabbana: FW 94-95

Posted Jul 31, 2011

Arts and Crafts according to the nineties. When it comes to fashion, it is hard not to associate it as a complementary measure to other artistic currents. Music? Lets Play.

"It was like girls playing Elvis" reads the press release of the FW 94-95 collection. Nothing like the dreamy waifs of the early nineties. Tough girls on stage, very much like the musicians potrayed in Dolce&Gabbana's recent Music Book (Kylie, Beyoncé, Aguilera, and oh yes please Madonna).
Not surprising the prominence given to leopard prints: feisty like the rock and roll mood of the collection. A different Kate Moss, a different Dolce&Gabbana perhaps, still playing boys and girls, but to the sound of music.

Hello Patent Leather: a different Dolce&Gabbana, a different Kate Moss? Isabella Rossellini playing it rocker? Fedoras and Elvis-like trims.

Men's tailoring and the nonchalance of a suit on the catwalk.

The absolute queen of the fashion calendar: an ever-present leopard coat.

The girls without their guitars.

The Iconic Music Book: a portrait of Musicians that have dressed Dolce&Gabbana. A tribute to music and fashion.
From Kylie Minogue to Aguilera, iconic voices dress for the occasion.

On and off stage: Madonna, Kylie, Beyoncé. It's hard to be on tour!

Music's feminine side: the sweetness behind iconic women.

And... the male stars of course: Bod Dylan, Eros, Justin....
