Thanks to Nowness, Pierre Debusschere’s Dolce&Gabbana film shot for Another Man magazine has been brought to a wider audience. The Belgian film producer and fashion photographer chose British actor Robert Sheehan to be Mr. Dolce&Gabbana. Smoke, green lights, firecrakers, the scene is blurred and a man is revealed. Perfection is a winning game.
Pierre Debusschere’s short movie is a great illustration of tailoring at its extreme. Fluidity of movements, sequences shot and synchronized in such a way that embroideries and couture details are underlined. No flashbacks but rays of green lights that suggest an electrocution/revelation experience to the sound of an electro acoustic soundtrack by Australian band Pivot.
Get ready for some highlights on what Dolce&Gabbana does best, menswear statements. This hyper real celebration is a remarkable tribute to the brand’s spring summer 2010 men collection, another one that set the tones for a modern wardrobe that has nothing to envy to the women closet next door.
