Flower Power

Posted Jan 12, 2009

Dolce & Gabbana's SS04 collection took it's floral energy from an unlikely source - the cyberage.

Tapping into the emergence of the multi-media age, the designers created a multicoloured fantasy in line with their adopted nickname "the mix masters".

On the catwalk, Naomi modelled a cut-out swimsuit with comicbook print teamed with a long flowing silk floral print wrap, whilst other models showcased tiered floral slip dresses paired with psychedelic tights or 1970's combo's of richly coloured silk blouses, fringed jackets and 70's floral trousers.

The finale to the show was a tongue-in-cheek homage to Marilyn Monroe, that combined a retor age wit the silver of 2004's new "cyberage". A collection of white form-fitting dresses were embellished with silver - including the legendary flapper style silver dress modelled memorably by Naomi Campbell - seen in the youtube clip below.
