A safari through fashion
Taking their inspiration from legendary photographers Irving Penn and Richard Avedon - the designers Dolce & Gabbana went on a literal and inspiration trip through Africa - bring the continent's breathtaking sights back to their Italian design studio.

Using prints, feathers, animal skins and African jewellery - the designer's iconic feminine tailoring took on new forms as they were injected with new fabrics and a new design outlook.

Yves Saint Laurent's iconic 1967 collection was referenced as were the Richard Avedon images of actress Lauren Hutton giving the Africa collection a powerful historical reference point as well as a modern feel.

For the collection's evening wear - printed chiffon, YSL inspired smoking jackets gave the collection a hit of the Dolce & Gabbana glamour factor.
