Following yesterday’s video relating the final Dolce&Gabbana menswear
nineties approach, let’s open the new millennium chapter and rediscover what our
favourite fashion duo had to propose from 2000 to 2005.
No preconceived idea, in 2000 it was all about newness: create something fresh
from the old stuff. Keywords were imagination, tradition, optimism, and
contrasts to compose a wardrobe for a Sicilian dandy, an urban Latin lover… The
Dolce&Gabbana Man is in tune with his environment, he loves and is loved.
His clothing is an illustration of his ever-evolving curiosity. Sophistication
lies in innovative combinations of precious fabrics. He is ready for romance and
is confident about his style. Mr Dolce&Gabbana does not belong to one
generation as underlined during the autumn winter 2002-2003 show where male
models from various ages ran down the catwalk.
“A happy decade” where luxury meets functionality and effortless style prevails
was forecasted.
A new chapter meant to be a continuation of what Dolce&Gabbana had
established during the nineties.

The New Hippies: from the Mid West to North Africa
The FW02 collection was a mix and match of styles, inspirations, historical periods and ethnicities. In an effort to hone in on the concept of casual luxury, Dolce&Gabbana fashioned a collection built on contrasts. North African, Hippie, Victorian and Western, were merged in a marriage of styles, fabrics and silhouettes.
