What's Yuri Ahn Wearing for #MFW?
Yuri Ahn... When she was asked the question ‘what does your wardrobe look
like?’, she had answered in a simple yet effective way:’It looks like the dream
of every girl...’ Actually she was right: boxes of Hermes, YSL and Chanel in a
corner, leopard print dresses of all lengths of Dolce&Gabbana around the
room and an army of shoes under her bed, in her closet and scattered around; it
really DID look like a dream. A fashionable one, well of course.
She was happy yet quite stressed when I arrived to her house here. She was
rather simple: a little black dress, no heels, light make-up. She said: ‘I have
two photoshoots this week. One with Style.it, the other with Harper’s Bazaar AND
on Thursday, I am invited to the event of the year... THE Dolce&Gabbana
Show! What do I wear, iwork4dg? What do I wear?’
Ok, as soon as I entered to Yuri Ahn’s closet, I saw why she was so confused.
The room looked more like a multibrand megastore than a closet of a fashion
editor. She had everything: from Lanvin’s vintage accessories to
Dolce&Gabbana’s iconic corsets... From YSL heels to Hermes’ famous Birkin...
I turned around and told her: ‘No worries, let’s choose together!’
‘Leopard
prints?’ or ‘leopard prints??’ that’s all that matters. I did a ‘best of’ list
of what she had with leopard prints then put them on her bed for a closer look.
She said: ‘Maybe I can use the leopard blouse?'
Yuri
said: ‘Higher the heels, closer I feel to David Gandy’s lips...’ And I laughed
like a kid, she was so sweet as she said that yet very charismatic too. I noted
what she said down then started picking up some of my favourite heels together.
The chandelier heels? The Dolce&Gabbana pumps? The Kirkwood killer sandals?
Welcome
to the wonders of Yuri Ahn’s wardrobe: with many different bags of Chanel to
choose to from, the selection was getting harder to finalize...
I
had never imagined Birkin to be so beautiful! She was lying in an orange box
like a beautiful princess in a tub of milk... With flower accessories made by
Yuri herself in the box, the bag looked so cool.
When
I saw this combination, I knew she had to pick this one: mini star print dress
and matching lace shoes with stars by Dolce&Gabbana. A star should be born,
she can’t be created yet with a Dolce&Gabbana dress, she might as well be
reborn... As a star that is.
Perfume?
Well, that’s what she still has to decide... Artisan? Keiko Mecheri? Fracas de
Robert Piguet? Chanel?
