My New Job at Gold

Posted Oct 6, 2010

A request came for Swide: can we have some pictures of the Gold, Dolce&Gabbana’s uber chic restaurant, bathrooms? Guess who was asked to accomplish this new glamorous task? And what happened in the bathrooms? The New Girl tells…

Since you can imagine the punishment, now guess the crime.

9AM Gold Bathrooms. The New Girl. After an episode of being locked in the elevator of the office for about an hour, I went to get my morning coffee at Gold, Milan. I was as always very professional: yes, from Swide, I need some pictures of your bathrooms for an editorial. Nothing exciting like catching some morning love-making in a bathroom: two guests ( I can’t mention names) left in a hurry the premises when the manager left me and my camera enter the realm of glory.

My new office was gold, as I was sitting in Gold. Ah the beauty you find in the most trivial things of life. You have to admit sitting in a nice bathroom upgrades your lifestyle a notch. Most definitely. While sorting the pictures with the best intentions, a phone call came. My boss: New Girl, sorry but we have decided to take on two more interns and well, your desk has been cleared. Literally I had been – not fired – but given a new office. Lucky me. Apparently for the time being I am expected to cover everything that goes on in these bathrooms. I am sure every evening will give productive and juicy fruits. As a journalist I can do anything, I told myself. Maybe they can even send me a martini over.

Until the manager came in with a broom: honey, well since you are here…might as well give us a hand.
I love my job I love my job I love my job. Please take me back. I promise I will behave at the next fashion shows and not fool around with the male models. (Guess which one?)
