What beauty sleep?

Posted Apr 2, 2009

Despite the fact I seem to get by on 3 hours of sleep and very expensive moisturiser - even my precious early hours of the morning were taken away from me by blue flashing lights.

There I was finally applying layers of expensive cream - when a blue flashing light caught my eye. Worried my caffeine intake could be starting to affect my eyes off I ran to attempt some shut-eye when the banging started.

Unsure of whether I was actually at home or in a club at this point I went to the window only to discover the kind road workers had decided to dig up the entire road.

Now cast aside all the usual stereotypes about Italians never working (they do, and a lot) - and read on. Yes at 2am - and right through the night (and my skin today is testament to this), the road workers went about their merry way (and believe me they were very merry) until they stopped at 7am for a cappucino. Delirious at this point it did cross my mind to yell out and ask if they knew how much a facial actually costs.
