The sun has got his designer specs on

Posted Apr 22, 2009

The few pale rays that managed to break through Milan's grey sky yesterday caused a rash of tan top-ups and a rush on the sunglasses? Did I miss the memo about buying new sunglasses during the Easter holidays???

Having just returned from the North of England for my Easter break, I'm working the 'pale is interesting' look amongst my colleagues long-haul tans. With the current non-stop rain putting a severe stop to the flaunting of post-holiday bronzed limbs/new sandals/sunglasses that my colleagues have been dying to pull out of this season's bags, even I was surprised about what happened when a few rays of sun popped their sunny head out of the clouds.

In a rare break (it's raining again) from the downpour, colleagues dropped their blackberries, hit voice-mail and forgot their afternoon caffeine fix (rare very rare) for a full-frontal out of the office window sunbed session.

Unsure about whether to join them or opt out and take my caffeine-fix alone on a darkened stair-well, I of course opted for the latter and the safety of a hot drink rather than a hot pink face. Should I bring my SPF 30 into the office I wonder??
