The new currency
Yes, as discussed earlier this week - the financial situation is not, how shall we put this - stable.
In a a twist of irony, on the day when I was no longer able to withdraw anything from my Italian bank account/credit cards and had to withdraw the few pounds I had left in my U.K bank account just to buy coffee - I came into work to find my desk scattered with gold. After five minutes spent contemplating if only the coins were an Italian form of Christmas bonus - I resorted to eating them instead of my usual brioche which I've had to forego until pay-day. Not a great start to my pre-tox week. (The parties start in full from next week and I'm trying to wean myself off alcohol until then - luckily the lack of cash is aiding and abetting this cause extremely well).
Staying positive - all things are sent for a reason, I found mine as I skipped off for a morning meeting. There on the floor above I found the sight to quell my money woes temporarily - The sales floor. And open...Yes, it may be coming up to Christmas but for our commercial team - AW10 is just beginning.
I can't tell you exactly what the boys will be wearing for next winter (who cares anyway?? - let's imagine them without!!) if I did - I fear I would be escorted off the premises by Mr.G himself. Anyway the sight of four tanned male models wandering around the floor in silk dressing gowns did it for me. I am now hurriedly scheduling in a meeting now with the head of buying for an immediate touch and feel -look it up - of the new collection (not the models). Luckily my hungry eyes (not a metaphor right now - I am actually starving) - may just guarantee me some model attention.
