The fantasy wardrobe

Posted Mar 19, 2009

It's all very well thinking about the evening's entertainment - and the zara dress you intend to wear, until that is you leave via the DG showroom. It's then that serious DRESS ENVY hits.

A sunny spring evening and the perfect opportunity to get out one's newly glistening pins (see yesterday's post) for a glass of wine or two. Mentally imagining my outfit whilst typing (multi-tasking at its very best) - it was all mental plain sailing until I made the very stupid decision to leave the building via the showroom. BIG mistake.

There's nothing guaranteed to ruin an evening as seeing next season's frocks smiling back at you ever so smugly as you leave the office. Short of carrying out my very own hit and run on the new fur coats (it passed my mind, it really did) I left the office having literally been sartorially 'robbed' of my evening's outfit.

Returning home to my high-street wannabe dress, it was a pale, sad (and crumpled) imitation of the elegant ladies just waiting to be given taken out of the showroom. Cruel - very cruel.

Mr.G if you're reading this, there are girls in your office who would take very good care of these ladies after 8pm most evenings and during weekends - you only have to ask.
