When there are houses to be booked in Saint Tropez, yachts to charter, and a Getty-esque wardrobe to perfect, some spare change can often come in handy. With the office appearing to feel the strain of holiday-envy and Italy's lottery offering its largest ever potential win this weekend, there's been group spirit in the office that hasn't been seen since last year's Christmas party...
Once we'd all got over our embarrassment of freely admitting our (financial) desperation (other forms of this emotion are usually a lot more obvious), we were free to reveal our most intimate desires. And what a surprisingly lot we are.
Expecting dreams of private jets or at the very least a yacht or two, should the office win this weekend, the Italian countryside may have to issue a warning instead as colleagues harbouring the deep desire for dogs and ponies intend to head to the warm embrace of rural life (?).
Desperately attempting to conjure up the image of colleagues in a) the fresh air and b) not in heels I realised it’s a disturbing world when the sight of colleagues necking champagne is more reassuring normal than the sight of them in a cable knit.
