Teatime at Dolce & Gabbana
An early morning meeting today (and obviously on top form after last night) but I did at least console myself with the new teapots on display during the meeting. How cute?!! Must find a way to get one for my own desk. Apart from the teapots, there was of course other business to attend to – and that was what lovely A-listers will be flying into to see the Dolce & Gabbana and D&G womenswear shows next week.
So far it’s the usual fabulous list of glamazons that inspire awe and fear (and immense jealously) for reasons I’ve helpfully outlined. So, sipping champagne pre-show with Mr. D will be, J-Lo (mother, actress, singer, icon, beautiful, friend of Mr.G…) Dita (far too chic), Eva (I am beautiful AND nice) Herzigova, Claudia (far too beautiful) Schiffer, Katy (sassy, sharp and so, so young) Perry and Matthew McConaughey (no words for he is a beauty and that’s all there is to say) and my soon to be husband David Gandy.
I am now sitting here trying desperately to compile insightful questions that don’t sound weird or stalker-ish and yet will put me in a line for a Pulitzer (if a celebrity category was ever invented). I have also excitingly been invited (thank-you press office) to a concert privato with the lovely Katy Perry following the press conference. Better dust down my vintage for that.
Despite the A-list gossip other news closer to home is dominating our skype office chat (am I the only one that finds it impossible to monitor skypechat, outlook and gmail simultaneously?) and that is the news that a very pretty DG employee (and may I add one of many…) is representing Lombardia (an Italian county for all your uncultured readers) in this year's Miss Italy contest…bet she gets noticed by Mr.G now.
How to compete????!!!
And finally, anxiety for the show has worsened as our dress code is only going to be sent via text on Sunday? Why?????? With the D&G show on Monday it leaves, approx. three hours on Sunday to pull together an outfit that is professional/chic/stunning/appropriate to meet the world’s A-list in – try finding that in Zara.
I however intend to hover by the press office before I go home and pray for a charitable offer of a dress or seven to get me through the week, hope the brogues with the gold heels are still about. I should be more concerned perhaps that no backstage laminate has been delivered either??????? BOOOORRRRINNNG…but after last season I’ve learnt my lesson if one doesn’t show up I'lll simply blame it on someone else and demand a new one before the show. Professionalism/desperation at its very best.
