Pitti Uomo: Tweets from the Undercover show
"Undercover", a skill we completely lack, but anyway, Undercover designed by Jun Takahashi was guest of honour at Pitti Uomo this week and we scurried in to give you - apart from the designer's SS10 preview obviously, the gossip of the evening.

Organisers asked that lady guests to refrain from wearing heels due to the fact the show's location - Florence's Giardino di Boboli at Palazzo Pitti.
White havaiana flip flops were handed out to bemused guests.

Fashion Pitti Press debate of the night was whether Undercover designer, Jun Takahashi is in fact a genius or Jil Sander clone? You decide. We're opting for genius.
We spotted The Sartorialist's Scott Schuman lying in wait to shoot the show's well-dressed guests looking himself like the perfect English dandy. Time to come out from behind the camera Scott.

Models clutching laptops sent ripples of fright over the audience of press who were suddenly reminded that in an hour they'd be locked in a hotel room attempting to write about it all. Doll-making and futuristic design, does not make for an easy article.

The audience were so stunned at what they'd just seen (or perhaps exhausted from climbing up the hill to the Giardino and show's venue) that Pitti CEO Raffaello Napoleone had to stand up to declare the show was over and Jun had left the building before people decided to leave their seats.

Designer Jun Takahashi's breathtaking doll-making caused a stir for about a minute. Then the bar opened and guests studied wine bottles instead.

So you think fashionistas don't eat?
The post-show buffet (with exquisite Florence views) caused a stampede. The New York Times Style Editor Stefano Tonchi held court (at one of the few tables) with Vogue writer Sarah Mower and Laudomia Pucci, whilst i-D magazine editors Terry & Trish Jones showcased their cool credentials by opting to sit on the grass and kicking off a evening picnic.
