Mr.G's birthday preparations

Posted Nov 14, 2008

The work on Mr.G's birthday painting continues and I plan my party outfit

Off to the basement/temporary studio where the company's finest creative individuals have been installed for the duration of the day to finish Mr.G's painting for this evening. There is much tension due to the fact the studio has to look exactly like the one featured in the SS08 campaign - remember all the supemodels looking creative in hand painted dresses? The studio is being filmed for a special video, "the making of Mr.G's birthday..." to be played this evening. Needless to say everyone is on tenderhooks and pulling weird faces to ensure they are caught at the correct angle. Then, there is the drama of what font to use - half the company are opting for elegant, the other pop. The conversation continues until pop wins and we all get high on the fumes of the spray paint and have to evacuate the studio for a long lunch.

After lunch - and due to the intense secrecy of the party (we can't work out if the huge amount of security in the building today is for Mr.G's birthday or because of the recent robbery) - the dress code is emailed to us at the last possible moment causing much hysteria - WHY DO THEY DO THIS EVERY TIME?? Anyway after much speculation -the dress code is as follows: Dark suit - elegant -glamorous-eccentric. Like a scary replay of the SS09 fashion show - I have gone into a wardrobe frenzy that not even my piggy bank can save me from this time - (read what happened last time at www.swide.com). The only people that can save me now are the press office.
