Life after backstage?

Posted Jan 21, 2009

If there is one - I'm 100% convinced I don't know want to know what it is.

It's D&G day and another blissful day backstage with the world's fittest models before the annoying planes take the boys away to Paris.

Although it's only Tuesday having been in the fashion (Milan menswear) week bubble since Saturday, I'm beginning to feel ever so slightly divorced from reality due the fact my week has gone a little something a bit like this...

  • Saturday - Male model backstage interviews DG show followed by being on the same bus as David Gandy
  • Sunday - Embarrassing incident with male models whilst having drinks with an ex-colleague
  • Monday - Male models on Milan's streets - bars - e-v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e.
  • Tuesday - Male model backstage interviews D&G show

It comes as no surprise therefore to learn that everyday tasks such as emptying the dishwasher, buying contact lenses, going to the supermarket, eating, or sleeping do not happen in this world. In my current perfect fashion-week world, everyday I wear a new designer outfit and heels, have a blow-dry, perfect nails, take taxis everywhere and only speak to either male models or famous make-up artists/hairdressers.

Needless to say, when the heels come off this evening and the last fashion flight has taken-off to Paris - it's all going to end in tears.
