Slight hysteria in the office today with the arrival of a new book - urgent tasks have been "postponed" until the book's contents have been digested - absorbed and then immediately copied (subtlety is not a word that exists in this office). Usually only the season's new lookbooks are reserved for this sort of hysterical treatment - secretly stashed in our handbags, pages torn out and then the next day in we all trot, head to toe just as Mr.D and Mr.G dreamt. Apparently after "The Twenty Years" book launch, Stromboli had an influx of DG employees holidaying on the isle in search of the DG first collection - competing who could find the oldest Sicilian lace and wear it to the first post-summer meeting, whereas after "Hollywood" everyone spent their summers L.A bound.
One of course could put it down to a chronic lack of immagination - but if you want muse status - you need to live - breathe and in our case wear the company. Anyway today the new book, and latest company statement, Diamonds & Pearls arrived. Very obviously working in fashion - I won't be buying diamonds or pearls anytime soon, but it's more the poses that have intrigued us. How far do we dare, and I'm speaking about the female employees at this moment if you get my drift... go in acting out this book's fantasies??
With the Christmas party coming up (Dec 15th - so don't expect an early post the next day), I'm 100 percent CERTAIN - some ambitious little lady is going to take the plunge and act out a little female fetish on the dancefloor. I can't wait to find out who it will be...stay posted ;-)
