Fashion face-off
Fashion is a rat-race - old news. What is particularly annoying is when industries get involved making the style competition ever harder than it is already. Every morning perched on my old-school looking bicycle, I stop at the traffic lights only to be faced by a line of boys with sparkling new "imported" bicycles - wearing cute sneakers, expensive leather jackets and well maintained hairstyles (the post-code is confidential before you ask). It's like a fashion face-off every morning...
Of course this is serious business - and even thought we may see each other everyday at the same spot, at the same time (rock and roll...) eeeevvverrry day - no-one would EVER think to say hello to eah other. It's like the golden rule of cool, appear aloof and unfriendly at all times. That was however until one of the little cooligans was cycling on his ever so niche "Brompton" bike last week and managed to skid on a small patch of ice straight into my wicker basket followed by my heels. How I laughed!!
After of course checking if he was okay and if his "little" bike had survived the onslaught of my vintage monster we now appear to have developed some kind of secret pact - where we now grimace at each other at the traffic lights (smiling is reserved ONLY for the boss). He is obviously ridiculous - but I can't help but wonder if this means I've now made it to his Christmas card list...
