Eye swide shot: Why black isn't back at LFW

Posted Sep 22, 2009

If we had to write about black being back yet again, we may put down our keyboards and join a nunnery. Instead we bring you a homage to creativity.

We're almost done on the London stop of the juggernaut that is spring/summer womenswear fashion week. As London’s Fashion Week celebrates its 25th birthday, Editrix Anna Wintour flew into the Big Smoke to celebrate and had this to say on the British take on things.

"I love the spirit of London, it is such a place for original talent. I love the way they can make clothes out of nothing, conjure up an atmosphere out of nothing. It’s very special." Looking at the images below, we'd have to agree.

Speaking with the Daily Telegraph yesterday, Anna had this advice for young designers,

"Talent is obviously important. But you need someone with personality, too; someone who is willing to listen. A designer really needs to spend five or 10 years learning the craft, learning the business."
