A cup of ambition

Posted Jan 22, 2009

To quote my alter ego Dolly Parton, the only thing that's getting me through today is "a cup of ambition" and perhaps even something a little stronger.

Yes - with all the boys (or male models to those not in the industry - keep up) now viciously removed from Milan and populating Paris fashion week instead - the combination of a lack of pretty faces and being stuck in the office until midnight every night is beginning to take its toll.

When the shows are on - the adrenaline kicks in and everything works. However the minute they stop fashion depression sets in, as does the tiredness, bad hair and spotty faces. Welcome to fashion down-time and believe me it's not a very nice place. If I could describe (although I'd rather not) the outfits, unwashed hair, bad complexions and general rattiness that is running around the office today it may spoil the usual immaculate impression of the office and so I'll abstain (from something at least).

In the offices right now - one false move and a tantrum is just waiting to happen. The only way to survive is to walk, talk and work in SILENCE - absolute - in fact the office is so quiet right now it could pass for a monastery and believe me this is not a word that I may ever use again in the same sentence as the Dolce & Gabbana office again.

And so - as my post's title suggests - it's all about coffee today and for the rest of the week and perhaps eternity, or at least until the boys come back to town. Boys if you're listening - we miss you.
