Play it again "Carrot": The Vegetable Orchestra

Posted Mar 17, 2011

We had seen pots and paddles but we had never thought fruits and vegetables could turn our ears around. A musical ensemble composed by fresh daily picked vegetables. True.

Their new album is called "Onionoise". It's serious matter and goes beyond imagination. True you can make noise from almost anything, yet turn it into a serious orchestra? Well, only in Vienna....

THE ENSEMBLE:
Jürgen BERLAKOVICH, Nikolaus GANSTERER, Susanna GARTMAYER, Barbara KAISER, Matthias MEINHARTER, Jörg PIRINGER, Ernst REITERMAIER, Richard REPEY, Ingrid SCHLÖGL, Marie STEINAUER, Ulrich TROYER, Tamara WILHELM.

Born in Vienna, 1998, the orchestra plays all kinds of types of music from fusion to contemporary to classic. It mostly depends on the vegetable in hand and the direction sound takes. Going through their website www.vegetableorchestra.org, one can have a list of the instruments, a special heart goes to the Pumpkin Drum. Sound has never been so gnam. No wonder they hold concerts all over the world.

To the question can everything turn green? This case shows that even music follows the trends and stops cutting trees.

A "taste" of the Vegetable Orchestra:
