Yuksek: Away from the sea

Posted Apr 28, 2009

French D.J Yuksek has been behind some of the dirtiest, most inspired remixes of recent times with names such as Mika and the Kaiser Chiefs demanding his services. His first album is released on May 11th.

Pierre-Alexandre Busson a.k.a Yuksek emerged in the UK about 18 months ago. Fast forward a few months and the French DJ / producer Yuksek has the worldwide club-scene under the spell of his unstoppable disco mix.

Yuksek performs a unique one-man live show, and strangely enough for a DJ, the suave musician describes himself as anything but a clubber. In a refeshing twist to the tired celebrity D.J sets clubbers have had to endure over the last fews years, Yuksek is genuinely talented. Regularly picking up a mic as aprt of his set to lay his own vocals whilst mixing and dancing between vintage keyboards - the guy screams music rather than celebrity.

Signed to "Sound of Barclay" in Paris, the more pop-orientated Fiction label (historic home of The Cure, and now host to The Whites Lies, Snow Patrol, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Kate Nash).

Away From The Sea - Yuksek's first album featuring the future hits 'Tonight', 'Extraball' and 'I Like To Play'. will be released May 11th on Fiction in the U.K.
