The Q Awards: The real gossip

Posted Oct 27, 2009

Amy Winehouse was up to her usual tricks at last night's Q Awards, held in London and which honor the best of the music business. Swide was intrigued though who was in conversation with Glastonbury's Michael Eavis.

There's nothing we love more at Swide than seeing a bit of rock and roll - but when it's the same old faces, well the stories get a little boring. Amy Winehouse, (who organizers had taken the caution of booking a room upstairs from the awards held at London's Grosvenor House), turned up late and proceeded to heckle a number of award winners that included Kasabian (vocalist Tom featured below) for Best Album.

Kasabian's Tom Meighan in fall/winter D&G at last night's Q Awards where the band won Best Album for West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum.

We did attempt to get backstage but our so-called passes failing us we resorted to following the awards on Twitter instead. Aside from Amy Winehouse's antics, what excited us the most was news that Michael Eavis and Glastonbury founder was seen in deep conversation with Robert Plant, who won the Q award for Outstanding Contribution to Music. A target for Glastonbury 2010 we wonder...

Sophie Ellis Bextor in fall/winter Dolce & Gabbana presented an award to Frankie Goes to Hollywood's Holly Johnson for their song Relax, which won the best classic song (oh how this makes us feel old).
