Phoenix's Lisztomania & an 80's dance trend

Here at Swide we're on trend alert - with the remake of film Footloose featuring Chace Crawford just announced and news of a new Youtube eighties internet phenomenan - does the world really want to dance Eighties style?
Until now French band Phoenix were perhaps most well-known for their track "Too Young" off debut album United that featured in the film Lost In Translation. It's no coincidence of course that band member Mars is married to the film's director, Sofia Coppola adding a boost to the band's cool credentials, but talent and a stroke of internet luck mean family connections, however cool are no longer needed for this band.
Currently being propelled into viral heaven is 'Lisztomania' from new new album "Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix" (released May 25th) and showing all the signs of being the new viral track.
The track's unofficial home-made Youtube video has seen a immediate massive 117876 hits in just over a month featuring a "mash-up" of classic dance scenes from 80's brat-pack movies that include The Breakfast Club, Pretty In Pink, Footloose and Mannequin.
The cool guys that they are - the band have admitted they prefer the video to their own official video and have described the home-made version as "our best video".
The video now features on Phoenix's official Myspace page. Praise indeed.
