Live a week in the words of Grace Jones

Posted Oct 14, 2008

How not to become a corporate cannibal. In honour of her fabulousness we have come up with a little something that we’d like you to try. Below is a day-by-day plan of how to, "Live a week in the words of Miss Jones”. Give it a go, if only to scare your colleagues.

Corporate Cannibal is the first release from Grace Jones’ new album, Hurricane out "possibly in September" (once a diva…). The video produced by Nick Hooker (who also created U2’s Love & Peace Or Else video) is yet another wonderful moody, off-beat and eccentric offering from a very talented artist.

Print and affix to the fridge.

A WEEK IN THE WORDS OF GRACE JONES

Monday: “People prefer to disappear in life and to repress their personality. That’s not living that’s dying.”

Translation: Do one thing that is absolutely you.

Tuesday: “Everyone has to make their own decisions. I still believe in that. You just have to accept the consequences without complaining”.

Translation: Quit whining today.

Wednesday: No quotation today but a fact: Grace speaks fluent French.

Translation: Parlez-vous avec moi?

Thursday: “I wasn’t born this way. One creates oneself”.

Translation: Add a signature quirk to your daily life.

Friday : “Use, don’t abuse”.

Translation: Take a day off from coffee/fags/alcohol and other substances.

The weekend: Add a cat-suit and you all ready to be a ‘Slave to the Rhythm”.

An optional quote for Sunday is below.

“That’s what they do in Argentina. Have a little wine and talk. The have some coffee and talk. Then, go back to the wine”
