Little Boots: The professional twit

Posted Jul 10, 2009

Describing herself as a professional twit on her Twitter page - we discover more about the humble Victoria Hesketh aka little Boots and her first album Hands.

Little Boots album has been produced by Greg Kurstin (who's also worked with Lily Allen and Kylie Minogue) and features collaborators such as Hot Chip's member Joe Goddard and Simian's Mobile Disco's Jas Shawn and a duet with Philip Oakey from Human League (Symmetry).

The album's overall Inspiration is the 80s,with its cover appearing to be a Pink Floyd tribute,"Amanda Lear has inspired me. Irony, sensuality and fantasy" Victoria has said.

Still only 25, at aged 5 Victoria was already playing the piano, writing songs at 13, followed by a Pop Idol type experience at 16. The so-called "new Kylie Minogue" won the 2009 BBC Sound of 2009 poll of new talent with the promise to play music in a visually exciting way: "I just hate indie-looking wannabe musicians".

As a keyboard veteran, the electro-pop star has enchanted everybody with her homemade videos of certain tracks. Featuring only her voice and a futuristic japanese synthesizer with the lights off ,"I prefer not to see my messy hair this morning!" she's quoted as saying.

Victoria is an avid twitterer www.twitter.com/iamlittleboots  revealing unique insights into a pop diva's ascent.

From now until September, Little Boot's tour dates include London, Dublin, Tokyo and Manchester's gay pride.
