Delorean's sunny romance

Spanish band, Delorean are beginning to develop a fan base beyond just Spain. with thanks to their four solid releases and a slew of remixes for artists like Guincho and Franz Ferdinand. At the end of the day, as amazing as their music might be, Delorean continues to have relatively low profile in the rest of the world. Without a doubt, the Spanish listening public adore and respect Delorean. Matador shares that "Delorean are at the forefront of a burgeoning community of musicians, producers and dj’s who are mining the collective Spanish dance-music heritage of Balearic house and combining it with contemporary independent pop, European techno, shades of the ecstatic Madchester sound and hip hop – a perfect soundtrack to romantic nights along the white Mediterranean sands of Barcelona". In talking about the necessity to play abroad, band member Ekhi Lopetegi told Pitchfork:
"I hope we're going to make it to America. That's our main goal now. We've played so much in Spain, and we really feel that it's not our place to be anymore, that we should go to the States and tour with some other bands, get to know different people, and just expand our horizons a little bit more".
Delorean hopes to win the hearts and ears of America with their upcoming album, Subiza. Delorean recorded the music for the new album in Basque town, Subiza, hence the name of the album. Subiza comes out June 8th, 2010 off True Panther Sounds.
At the moment, the band is on tour in North America, opening for Miike Snow. Visit their myspace for Delorean's tour dates. In the meantime, Delorean brings a smile to our faces with their latest video release from their Subiza album, "Stay Close” . " Summer has yet to arrive, but lucky for us, Delorean gives us a taste of some surf and sand.
