Daydream believer: Bat for Lashes

Posted Apr 14, 2009

Haunted by her dream-like voice and ethereal beauty - British singer, songwriter and visual artist Natasha Khan of Bat for Lashes is our new pin-up for the new post-excess world.

Although Bat for Lashes combines a number of past influences in her work (Bjork, Stevie Nicks, Kate Bush have all been mentioned) - Natasha's music still manages to sound timeless - fresh and refreshingly soulful.

Her new album new ‘Two Suns’ is released on the 6th of April 2009. Written and recorded around the world, from Big Sur and the Joshua Tree desert in California to the rolling Welsh countryside and the city sprawls of New York and London - it's not her first, but it certainly won't be her last.

The album includes appearances by Brooklyn’s finest psychedelic experimentalists Yeasayer, who provide bass and beat programming as well as  legendary Scott Walker also performs a duet with Natasha for the album closer ‘The Big Sleep’.

Bat for Lashes first single, 'Daniel' from the new album 'Two Suns' is out now.
