Courtney Love is nobody's daughter

Posted Oct 1, 2009

Love or hate her, Courtney Love is a survivor. Proving nobody puts her in the corner, the rocker is back where she should be - in the recording studio ahead of her forthcoming new album, Nobody's Daughter.

The line that accompanies Courtney Love's Twitter account appropriately reads as follows "rock and roll saved my soul" - this from a woman whose very essence screams life on the road albeit it in a vulnerable way. If the rumours are to be believed, Courtney, said to be releasing a new album in January 2010 is featured below in this rare video footage (posted by Courtney herself in Sept) singing an homage to legendary rocker John Hughes seems to fuel the rumour – she’s definitely back.

A life spent in turmoil – Courtney’s latest challenge however appears to be a less rock 'n' roll one and one that involves a whole lot of suits as her financial situation teeters precariously on the edge of an overdraft. It's an issue that is obviously all consuming. Her twitter account (she's a furious tweeter) showcases hundreds of tweets shot from the heart about what exactly she’d like to do with her financial entourage that she is accusing (repeatedly) of defrauding her in more ways than one.

Nevertheless, although Courtney may not be blessed with the luck of the Irish, she can certainly entertain like them, and despite her ‘wicked witch’ demeanour painted by the indie world, she comes across albeit via Twitter as a genuinely kind person, fiercely proud of her daughter Frances and crushingly disturbed by her financial situation. One can’t help but want to send an entire accountancy office, if only to drop a practical lifeline to her hotel that she calls home.
